My new motto is basically that if I can’t do it with one hand, I am not likely to accomplish a goal. This applies to cleaning the house, cooking, and running errands. The only times that Julia is away from me is for her naps during the day and of course in the car. Then I have two hands to sooth her. (It’s a good thing we live in a city and rarely have to drive anywhere with just the two of us.)

This is well known about us, and I recently received an electric can opener as a gift. If it weren’t for this device, we would have gone without meals in the evenings at least a few times. If you have a sweet baby who must be held all the time, I highly recommend the Handy Can Opener.

Another item we cannot live without is a clock for every room viewable from angles where we may find ourselves rocking our sweet girl to sleep. We purchased wall clocks, desk clocks, and mini time/temp clocks and have added six (and counting) to our home with fewer-than-that rooms.

Here is one of our favorites for time and temp with a backlit display for midnight rockings.
